Scope & Content |
Letter dated April 23, 1862 and signed by Daniel Davis of the 46th Pennsylvania Volunteers. Davis writes to his brother concerning being on the march during Union General Nathaniel Banks' drive to push Stonewall Jackson out of the Shenandoah Valley. He remarks that the southern women that he encounters seem less than ladylike, as they exhibit behavior "just like the men" from his home town. |
