Brig. General John McArthur writes to General James B. McPherson in this letter dated May 8, 1863. McArthur describes his immediate logistical plans for Vicksburg, Mississippi. Reporting to his commanding officer, McArthur writes in great detail of his plans for troop movements, caring for his sick and wounded, and disposing of stragglers "and other debris of the Camps . . ." McArthur closes by reassuring McPherson "we are all in good health and spirits and will endeavour to keep up our end of the 17th A. C." |
