Letter written by David Dees Fisher to his wife, Margaret and children Rosana and John. Dated May 1, 1863. Fisher was a member of the 1st Regiment Mississippi Infantry (State Troops) (Kings), Co. E. He writes from Grenada, MS about their furloughs being cancelled, Yankee troops in the state, and about issues at home. Also includes a photo glued to a scrap of paper, showing a woman standing next to a tree in front of a house, caption says "Dec. 1968. This old House. Built before Civil War time, is still standing. Has been added to and is being lived in now. Just off Bailey Ave." |
